Best not tell the kids about this one, they'll all want to try it!

LadyMacbeth · 18/05/2007 08:24

I heard about ths. V pleased I have my own chooks and not a rooster in sight...

BigPantsRule · 18/05/2007 10:17

We keep chickens and recently found a decidedly dodgy egg which we had to throw away. No rooster. We think the robin that accidentally got itself shut in with the hens the night before may have had something to do with it, though

kittypants · 18/05/2007 10:18

.no child will eat eggs again just incase.

Nbg · 18/05/2007 10:24

Oh wow!
I want to do it!!!

Nbg · 18/05/2007 10:25

So how do you tell the difference between a fetilised and unfertilised egg?

And what would happen if you hatched a double yolker?!!!

powder28 · 18/05/2007 10:25

I want one, do chickens like rabbits?

BigPantsRule · 18/05/2007 11:11

"And what would happen if you hatched a double yolker?!!!"

Twins?

EricL · 18/05/2007 16:18

That is strange. Must have been a wandering cock-erel who must have had a night to remember when he stumbled upon a chicken hutch!

I always remember going off eggs for a while when i was told that they wre a chickens 'period'....ie., an unfertilised egg.

A nice image........

MamaG · 18/05/2007 16:19

Eric I think you might be my ex boyf's brother

colditz · 18/05/2007 16:21

NO!

I never ever want to eat eggs again, I can never eat a boiled egg again in case I boil a chick alive!

EricL · 18/05/2007 16:27

MamaG - i hope that's a compliment then.

(Although it probably isn't, since i spy the word 'ex' there...............!)

MamaG · 18/05/2007 16:29

I freaked him out saying chicken period

and his name was eric
