Well, there's a surprise. What worries me about Gordon is his history with PFI. Very, very bad idea and even worse in practice. Handy to get borrowing off the books, though.

SenoraPostrophe · 16/05/2007 21:41

oh, no really? they really should have ahd a contest. labour mps are a bunch of arse lickin wusses

SenoraPostrophe · 16/05/2007 21:42

edam: they have just changed the rules which will bring new pfi projects back onto the books i believe. it's just a shame about the existing ones.

Spidermama · 16/05/2007 21:42

I think Mr David Milliband < phwoar > should get the job.

Spidermama · 16/05/2007 21:43

Obviously for very sensible and grown up reasons to do with the economy and foreign policy and stuff.

tiredemma · 16/05/2007 21:44

I actually like him. I think he is genuine, only concern would be his pilfering of pension funds.

SenoraPostrophe · 16/05/2007 21:48

I quite like him too, but there should still be a contest. otherwise he'll go all Blair on us and assume that he is in power for ever no matter what.

niceglasses · 16/05/2007 21:48

I like what Clinton said about him (!! can't quite believe agreeing with Clinton) but he is genuine, and I think he may be a revelation - I think his won't be TB but that may be to his advantage.

I want to hear more from him tho on actual policies..........

Really, SP? That's something, but unfortunately too late for the NHS.

Can't make my mind up about Brown. He's impressive and principled but not sure I actually trust him. He's certainly a control freak, treasury have been acting like bullies for the past ten years.

lol at spidermama!

Dont forget pensions!

Gordon Brown did a Robert Maxwell on what was the best pension fund in the EU, in fact, the UK had a pot bigger then every other EU nation put together.

The man's a thieving ###t, the latest in a long line of thieving ###ts jokingly called the Chancellor of the Exchequer who's
only purpose in life is to separate the workers from their hard earned cash

LostPuppy · 17/05/2007 10:39

Edam,

Dont forget PFI was a conservative policy vehemently opposed by Labour when in opposition, but embraced with open arms when in government as soon as they realised what a great way to hide money it is. It benefits no-one but the government and the shareholders of the firms 'running' the schools and hospital contracts

edam · 17/05/2007 16:44

Quite, LP. Gravy train for the companies involved, not so good for the public - taxpayers or users of the NHS/schools/other services.
