Unbelivable - apparently there are no age restrictions in Illinois for getting a gun licence.

At what age are children allowed to hunt here? Not at ten months of course but I imagine there are children in the UK who also use guns from a young age. Its not so diffrent

PPB - It is very different. I'm American so I'm not just coming in as anti-US. There is no way you can say in the UK it's as easy to get a gun as it is in the US, or as widespread to have guns around the house. All you have to do when you consider the difference in attitudes and actions between the two countries, is look at the reaction to Dunblane- biparty agreement within days to make the sort of guns the guy used illegal - relative to what action was taken after the shootings at Virginia Tech. Absolutely nothing, and it's a Democratically controlled congress! If anything were ever going to be done, it should be now.

Forrest Gump did not create the name Bubba. It is a common nickname in the South. Being a Yankee myself, I think the name is horrible. It is often followed by another name, like Bubba Jo... I went to school in Texas and I once met a man named bubba and it was all I could do to keep from laughing in his face.

My brother is called Bubba. His name is actually James but I couldn't say brother right as a child and it came out Bubba. It stuck.
