God, that poor kid. He was probably in complete shock when the whole thing happened and just went along with what his dad said.

He was brave to come clean in the end though.

He had 24 licensed guns according to this report

And ITV news stated that police had returned guns to him on two previous occasions, after they were seized following complaints by neighbours.
