Ive just seen this on bbc news www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-politics-44028473 it relates to grandparents rights to see their grandkids post divorce. Is this being discussed elsewhere on mn?

This is a terrible idea. I feel sad for people who are cut off from their grandchildren, and for the children too. But introducing this is undermining the parents and that's not on.

I've decided my children won't see my mother for their own safety. She can rant and rave all she likes but I'm the parent, I decide.

This shouldn't be about the 'rights' of the adults involved though should it? None of the adults, parents included. This should be about what is best for the child. Is the relationship a positive part of their life or not?
My mum has helped care for my children since they were 1 year old. If a separation caused her to be taken from their lives it would be very detrimental to THEM.
