I'm so gutted for his family, I was hoping he would prove everyone wrong, I keep giving my 15 month old baby boy big hugs :(

Poor little boy
I'm not sure why people thought the doctors had got it wrong

BIWI · 28/04/2018 07:48

It's very sad, but it also proves that everything that the hospital/medics were saying was right.

RIP Alfie Flowers

Lorddenning1 · 28/04/2018 07:49

@Poshindevon how rude are you

Don't make this about you guys. The little lad has died. Leave your condolences and go.

Ilikesweetpeas · 28/04/2018 07:51

RIP Alfie, I hope that his parents and the medics who cared from him so well can all move on from this.
As someone who works with life limited children I found the whole tragedy so upsetting.

Isadora2007 · 28/04/2018 07:52

A baby dying is always sad, this poor wee lad had no life though and I cannot help but be slightly relieved there is no chance he is suffering now.
I feel heartbroken for his parents and those who loved him. He was a gorgeous wee boy.

Jesus @Poshindevon

Apparently being posh doesn't teach you a little bit of 'there but for the grace of god'

RIP Alfie Thanks

RIP little one Flowers and my heart goes out to his parents and family.

I’m so glad the parents seemed to be getting better advice over the past couple of days. They were used by others, who had bigger agendas than Alfie’s well-being.

fragrancedirect · 28/04/2018 07:54

So sad but such a release for Alfie. I do think that this must have been the 'best' outcome given the dreadful circumstances in that he lived a few days after the ventilator was removed and so his parents had time to cuddle him and be with him. There can be no further rubbish spouted about lethal injections etc and no worries of Polish gangs removing him. This has been a terrible case but at the centre of it a young couple with a beautiful little baby boy who they will spend the rest of their lives mourning, peace and comfort to them all Flowers.

MissEliza · 28/04/2018 07:55

May he rest in peace. Life is so unfair. He should have been running around and being a cheeky toddler but he never got a chance.

BakedBeans47 · 28/04/2018 07:56

He was never going to “prove anyone wrong” 🙄 the poor lad’s brain had pretty much disintegrated. Not the kind of thing you can recover from.

RIP Alfie x

Lorddenning1 · 28/04/2018 07:58

@fragrancedirect I think your right :( which ever way you look at it or what your opinion is, a little boy has died :(

My little one was ill yesterday and sent home from nursery, he lay on my chest and fell asleep, I was on my phone and I saw a picture of Alfie and his mum in the exact position and it made me cry, so heartbroken for them

Lorddenning1 · 28/04/2018 08:04

FluffyHippo · 28/04/2018 08:08

So many grief tourists! Are your lives really that shallow and empty that you have to appropriate someone else's suffering? Jeez!

MissEliza · 28/04/2018 08:09

I really hope the parents get space and counselling to deal with everything they've been through. I also hope they'll be able to have a family when they're ready.

PeakPants · 28/04/2018 08:12

The parents were so let down by all the hangers-on who were peddling the stupid notion that the OP is, that a boy who had suffered brain-death would suddenly and miraculously recover. How on earth was that ever going to happen? People like the Christian Legal Centre and Caroline Farrow should hang their heads in shame for what they put the poor parents through.

Also, the parents did not believe he would make a recovery by the way. The case was largely about the form his palliative care. The only idiots who did believe in a miracle was the huge throng of people that attacked doctors and nurses and created a horrible atmosphere for parents visiting their desperately sick children at Alder Hey. Absolutely disgusting.
