For not wanting to cause further distress to the family or relatives. Makes you think, doesn't it? probably a good thing to have done.

There is however a bit of discussion about a 'childcare guru ending dispute with parenting website.'

Good for them.

Sometimes individuals or organisations should independently and voluntarily curtail their right to free speech in consideration for others feelings.

That is NOT the same as censorship.

I think the debates should be had later.

Have they? Im not sure I agree I'm afraid. Having said that I am so nearly outta here, mn over the last week has been such a weird, polarised and negative experience, what with the judging and the anger some posters have over others expressing concern and empathy for the McCanns.

Enid · 10/05/2007 14:03

I dont think anyone has showed any anger over anyone expressing concern and empathy for the mccanns

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 10/05/2007 14:05

think it's wrong, but then I guess it depends on what's being said.

on here most of the anger and bickering has gone on between users, eg one user saying don't talk or speculate, another saying we'll talk if we want to, and only a few have actually judged in terms of saying it was the parents' repponsibility. the rest who have been deemed to be judgemental have generally asked how a parent could leave a child ... not the same as judging imo.

Enid, I love that you are so all over this.

I am right behind you, albeit lurking and not taking any of the flak.

secondclasscitizen · 10/05/2007 14:06

HulkingGreatLurker · 10/05/2007 14:13

Enid i like that you're still jive talking. (its Boco btw) I think your sterner posts on the other thread could benefit from more jive talk tbh. 'quit yo gum flappin' etc.

expatinscotland · 10/05/2007 14:14

Enid's in da house!

LaBoheme · 10/05/2007 14:34

There has even been posts questioning the mental health of posters who were expressing emotion over someone they never met, although I am starting to question my own mental health posting on here over doing something more rewarding and constructive like, say, watching LK Today...

Enid · 10/05/2007 14:34

genuine concern, yes

mrsmalumbas · 10/05/2007 14:35

Glad I lived abroad for 8 years of it

scatterbrain · 10/05/2007 14:35
