Or The Long Goodbye. Is Blair's resignation the longest running story in politics?

doing his speech now.....it has started with "I was born...." so I imagine it might take some time.

NKF · 10/05/2007 12:11

Is his speech full of those eloquent pauses? And how many times has he tilted his head to show that there's a particularly moving bit coming up?

LOL, I keep glancing at it and not sure if it is really him or that guy from Dead Ringers.

expatinscotland · 10/05/2007 12:13

Oh, gawd, now it's Gordon Brown.

Maybe we really should start looking to emigrate .

NKF · 10/05/2007 12:14

Is Cherie there?

OP posts:
KezzaG · 10/05/2007 12:16

.....and still it goes on.........he hasnt confessed to his unrequited love for George Bush yet....

NKF · 10/05/2007 12:17

Has he said how right he was. Right about everything. And how history will judge him to be right about everything. And how he feels the hand of destiny on his shoulder. And he's right. So very right. Always right.

Has he got to his schooldays yet?

As the interest rate climbs along with inflation . . .

The Titanic is sinking! Run for the lifeboats!

CantDoThis · 10/05/2007 12:19

More to the point, has he got his guitar out yet, love him! I know its there somewhere.. the FiveLive crew saw it being taken in...!

GinaVauxhall · 10/05/2007 12:20

I will remember him as:

the pm that brought us into war

the pm who with Bush helped to destibilize the Middle East

the pm whose wife tried to buy cheap property in Bristol doing dodgy deals

i could go on

KezzaG · 10/05/2007 12:23

Apologies for times he has fallen short and good luck.

Hugs from Cherie.

Claps from various old biddies.

Slight theatrical tear from Tone.

LOL, now back to the studio for Alistair Campbell. Why am I watching this?????

KezzaG · 10/05/2007 12:23

No guitar, damn, his speech could have been like a Richard Stilgoe song, now that would have been something to remember.

NKF · 10/05/2007 12:24

Well, there we go. Anyone care to bet how many times the words "end of an era" will be used in the next few days?

OP posts:
Pixel · 10/05/2007 14:11

Not as many times as the words "good riddance"

NKF · 10/05/2007 16:23

Can you believe it? He's not actually going until June. On and on it goes....

OP posts:
IcingOnTheCake · 10/05/2007 16:34

I don't know all that much about what Tony has or hasn't done mainly because i don't really understand politics and partly because i am young. I am interested in peoples views on the subject though.

suzycreamcheese · 10/05/2007 20:16

ah,,,dear leader...

[boak emoticon]....

as much as i utterly detest what he has done on so many levels, the spin, the lies, the targets, the privatisations, the betrayal, the thatcher impersonations, the terror laws etc...

...i actually think that the fact he can bail out when he fancies, leaving others in war situations, after taking this country to war telling lies, and with no conclusion in sight,
.....is just another slap in the face blair style....
..and he looks for a legacy...wtf

INFACT..the only thing that shocks me more was him being re-elected when he and his cabinet are a war criminals...

he makes me feel sick and scared ..bad man..

paulaplumpbottom · 10/05/2007 20:41

I bet he wanted to squeeze one more G8 summit in

LadyTophamHatt · 10/05/2007 20:48

hah...he goes on my birthday!

chocolatekimmy · 10/05/2007 21:50

Send him to Iraq then see what he thinks of keeping our troops out there
