Was shocked to see this on the BBC news website, I know there are stabbing but didn't realise it was this bad.

I've just read that the 16 year old boy has now also died. Too many young lives are being wasted.

noenergy · 04/04/2018 09:31

Such a pity and waste of life, these teenagers had the rest of their lives ahead of them.

One was a drive by shooting and the other a knife attack. Where r the guns coming from I thought it was pretty hard to get one here.

Another young man has lost his life tonight.

It is sickening.

frasier · 04/04/2018 23:23

New York has brought down its murder rate by a huge percentage. London is nowhere near the 90s rate of NY murders. We need to look to them to see how they did it and put it into action NOW.

Elstelle · 04/04/2018 23:26

To be fair it's only in the last two months that London's rate has been higher...it's a bit early to call it a trend.

Beeziekn33ze · 04/04/2018 23:28

Frasier - Yes! It's heart breaking, I don't think police cuts help.

This is a reality check on the shock headline. Much too early to call it a trend. Would be interesting to find out the victims’ identities - are they all gang related murders?

noenergy · 05/04/2018 11:19

Really sad, that's another two innocent lives.

Maybe New York is still more violent but there has certainly been an increase in the number of stabbings and murders here.

There have been more stabbings tonight apparently 😞

noenergy · 06/04/2018 02:01

It just seems to be out of control

@frasier

But the reality will cause a lot of controversy - stop-and-check procedures that discriminate against Blacks and Hispanics (note this would be Muslims in the UK), or police carring guns as a deterrent, etc

This was one of the main methods that New York Republicans managed to get into power.

Celticlassie · 12/04/2018 20:10

cocacola why muslims? Are disproportionate numbers of Muslims carrying out these violent crimes?

OCSockOrphanage · 17/04/2018 12:46

Theeyeofthestormchaser, the Times posted a gallery of all the victims. Most were Afro-Caribbean; not one was white.

EleanorTopaz · 17/04/2018 12:56

If it's the Afro Caribbean community predominantly carrying out the attacks, then they would be the ones to be stopped and searched.

If the victims are also Afro Caribbean, surely it is in the communities best interests?
