Interesting 'first reaction' from the mother!

i've had a loofah in my ear too, rice krispies is EXACTLY what it soudns like. no, really.

I saw this on Newsround (DD was watching, honest), and winced. Yeuch.

I once had an elderly client, who had to go to hosptial for something or other, which resulted in him having an xray of part of his head.

Very clearly, on the xray, the doctors discerned a large open safety pin deep within his ear. He did recall cleaning the wax out with a safety pin "ooh, months ago now..."

An appointment was made for him to go back the following week to have the pin removed - but when they took another x ray, it had gone! He had no idea what had happened, had not been in pain or noticed anything unusual.

There's a lesson in there somewhere, I'm sure...

Love what the mum said, but really, I would have needed anesthetic as soon as they told me or I would have gone ballistic, maybe bombed my ear off! The boy does look quite chuffed though.

My ear has been feeling funny tonight and i have a fear of moths going in my ear since i watched an episode of casualty when i was younger,and a woman on there had it happen to her.
And i am bloody terrified of loofers

I do remember there was a 'story' when i was maybe 12 or 13 about a man who had a big lumpy spot on his neck that wouldnt go. One day when he was combing his hair, he nicked the edge of the lump and hundreds of spiders ran out!!!!!

I thought a loofah was one of those things you scrub your back with in the bath! I thought 'how the devil did he get those in his ears?'

apparently you can swallow 13 loofahs a year at night (no idea who counts) if you sleep with your mouth open...they are attracted by the moisture in your mouth...

surely it must be an insect bomb rather like a flea bomb.

From what I recall of living in San Francisco, the Americans are keen on 'insect bombs' which you let off in the house whilst you are out to kill vermin (in our case fleas yuck)

So am sure that is what the mother meant!!
