Listening to the report from there on R4 today. I was actually feeling quite emotional. I know there may be a way to go, I know that things may still go wrong, I know there must be plenty of bad blood, but it is still amazing.

Yes, an amazing day in history.

I just saw Ian Paisley giving a speech about lasting peace etc and welled upa bit - it is just fantastic.

Martin McGuinness still talks as if he is speaking "oudda da soide of his moyth and thru clencht teeth" though. He's always sounded an untrustworthy so-and-so. I'd watch him carefully if I were Paisley. What's that old saying - keep your friends close and your enemies closer?...

I honestly thought I had misheard this on the news, I mean, Paisley and McGuiness?

There are some serious lessons to be learnt by a lot of people around the world that these 2 could even consider working together, let alone actually go ahead and do it (IYSWIM)

I was brought up in N.I and this is a truly historic day.Coming from an area where paisley was revered by many it is a MIRACLE that these 2 are talking and working together.Like someone else sadi lessons to be learned

Yep i am finally feeling a little bit proud to be northern irish. This place is changing very slowly but it is a miracle thinking of how it was.

Fingers crossed! My 2 older kids, born in Belfast, went to a school in Maine for a term called George J Mitchell Elementary. He is a great man. (John Hume isn't well, he is missed from current events).
