KFC Shut Down?

I'm currently in the US and just heard on the radio that there is a KFC chicken crisis in the UK. I hope nobody was craving any KFC today. Just kind of shocked to hear that news made it all the way over here to a local radio station in the mid west.

Was it not to do with a new delivery company not being able to manage chicken deliveries to loads of stores? My local one had chicken as we went on Saturday

I don’t know. The police had to ask people to stop ringing them!! So it’s more than one knobhead

It’s apparently costing them a million a day. It surprised me to was so low until I thought they probably aren’t paying the zero hours people.

Apparently KFC decided they were paying too much for the specialist food transport company and shifted the business to DHL.

DHL spectacularly failed at being able to deliver the chicken for KFC.

The specialist food company only worked for KFC and have now gone bust since they lost the business and had to lay off all their employees, so KFC can't even give them the business back and have to make do with DHL.

That's what you get, treating other businesses like shit just for the pleasure of working with you. Apparently KFC are losing £1million a day.

Hope it closes them down for good to be honest. The treatment of chickens that end up in their meals is abhorrent. It would be a shame for people losing their jobs but I have no sympathy for the customers who fuel the market for mass-produced, minimal welfare life-is-dirt-cheap chickens.

Apparently kfc were warned in October that dhl would struggle to fulfil the contract.

The other company was a specialist food transit company. DHL obviously isn’t..

Bidvest were the previous distribution company- pretty such they haven't gone out of business.

This isn't true! Bidvest are a huge company, they haven't gone bust. They have however shut a distribution warehouse and have had to make those people redundant.

KFC is the most disgusting of the fast food chains.

The one where I am has the filthiest kitchen/serving area. I can't believe it continues to past the stringent health inspections (Australia). I know several people who've got food poisoning from KFC, but none who've got it from McDonalds. Hmm

Wtf is wrong with people? Can't believe Tower Hamlets police had to put out a tweet to say that inability to buy fried chicken does not constitute an emergency and to stop phoning them! These people are allowed to vote and look after children and drive cars!

Ours is open but with a limited menu - we often call in after an activity for DD to get something to eat, no popcorn chicken in ours on Monday but it is still open.

Allegedly - the computer system struggled, the motorway problems on the first day and the the subsequent collapse of the computer system have caused this.

DH ordered a car part earlier this week and they offered to send it via the chicken chaos company that is DHL - he declined their kind offer after the publicity and it arrived much quicker than expected by a different courier.
