child maintenance

I have so far been unable to get any child maintenance from my DS's dad. DS (age 10) often stays at his dad's two nights a week. Usually weekdays, occasionally the two nights are on the weekend.

His dad was on a benefit/disability but says he works now. I previously received a Child Maintenance/Support letter saying he owes me £0 per week. But it's 2017 now and I'm sure circumstances have changed, he's even decided he has enough financial security to have more children.

Does anyone know where my first port of call would be to ask for help obtaining child maintenance?

The exceptions to the rule are summer holidays, when I take DS abroad or around the UK for extended periods of time, the Christmas holidays when I take DS as his dad does not celebrate it and then whenever his dad feels like taking off abroad for 1 or 2 weeks which has been happening once a half term recently.

How many nights does he have them a week? Sounds like you are nearly at share care arrangements?

It’s less than two nights a week so nowhere near a shared care arrangement.

OP you need to contact chil maintenance options and put in a claim for child maintenance. However, they now deduct a fee from both the NRP and the PWC. I think the PWC fee is between 4% and 12% but not sure.

Oh right thanks for that I will try Child Maintenance Options.
