Anyone know what's going on with VISA debit cards?

Just phoned bank for balance, and got recorded message saying there is a "worldwide problem with VISA debit cards being declined", but I can't see anyhting on the news, but just wondered if anyone had heard anything about it.

I have a Visa Electron debit card and phoned just to see what happened for you and mine is all OK. Either mines not the same as yours or the problem has been solved!

I phoned again and it said the same thing, except the problem is Europe wide, not worldwide as I first said. I'm only wondering because I have shopping coming today and i don't want it not getting delivered because my card has been declined

I don't know but there is a message on my worldpay account to say that they have been advised by Visa that it should be resolved at 13.15. I have just put a Visa through so seems to be going again.

I've used 2 different Visa debit cards this morning. No problem with either.

Worldpay's latest update now saying estimated time of it being sorted is 2.15 - 2.30pm

it'll just be a network problem. it wouldn't make the news, these things happen quite a lot. it'll be that the system has gone offline as it were.
