I appreciate a lot of people will have their holidays cancelled and fingers crossed they have get their money back.

But mostly thinking of the 3,000 staff that have lost their jobs while the news is focussed on disgruntled passengers.

If there are mumsnetters among them and there will be, here’s some Flowers and hope you do get offered something by competitors soon. I recently got made redundant and it’s really really rubbish.
I had a bit more notice and a decent package though, which I’m guessing these people won’t.

Dozens of my friends went to work this morning and were given 30 minutes to clear their desks, yep at Monarch. There were a lot of tears.
Some of them had worked together for several decades.

This is so sad. My heart aches a bit for those workers. It's awful. have to say it's the workers I'm thinking of far, far more than the holidaymakers.

A colleague's friend works for them. Colleague was waiting to hear from said friend earlier, but obviously didn't want to hound them with asking beforehand.

Awful to just have no work to go to and have to leave so soon.
