www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/sep/06/rotherham-abuse-scandal-no-charges-against-senior-council-figures an inquiry into senior members in rotherham council and their role in the grooming scandal and thefts of information has concluded that no one will face charges, what a disgrace those poor victims.

Yes I read the story. People in power always look after themselves and their own don't they? It really upsets me the issue of grooming by gangs has degenerated into a bun fight about political correctness. What in the meantime is being done for all those poor girls whose lives were destroyed?

Totally ,totally agree miss Eliza its so devastating soooo much evidence was stolen!! Where has it all gone.

IMHO there should have been a national inquiry into the failings of the various departments and agencies involved. You can't trust them to police themselves.

Ffs. Just another slap in the face for Rotherham, the 1400+ girls and their families then.

It would be very, very different if we were talking about middle or upper class girls. Or boys. And it would be an absolute outrage if it had been poor Pakistani girls abused by middle aged white british men.

And the social workers knew what was going on for years. And for years were reporting it to the police who were saying there was nothing they can do. I hope that this isn't the end of it. The councillors and the police at the time should be made to pay. Not pass the book to social workers.

I'd missed this.

What a disgrace.
