So sad. He seemed so lovely.

Apparently so, but I didn't watch Strictly until he had left because I found him annoying. However from the glowing tributes on Sky News I must be in the minority.

Indeed. I think he was the last survivor of the pre-television generation of entertainers who came up through the music halls and variety theatres, wasn't he?
