Aside from all the other issues we're facing in education, this is one of the topics that comes up over and over again, but probably little known to outside. So many vulnerable children or families who are not coping, but because the child isn't at risk of serious harm, referrals are constantly coming back as no further action.
When I look at the children causing most issues in terms of behaviour (and having a knock on effect on other children), a fair proportion desperately need extra support or intervention, as their behaviour is likely being effected or even driven by their home circumstances, but it just isn't there.
