Channel 4 redeemed itself recently with a great report on npower using private security and strong arm tactics to bully local people in Oxfordshire. The locals that dare to visit Radley Lakes (walkers, bird watchers, families out for Sunday stroll) meet masked men and city lawyers. npower don't want any cameras or video in the area while their workers prepare the lake for infill with ash from npower's Didcot power station. More here .

Thats awful.

Presumably they have planning permission to do this? And is it anywhere near the enormous reservoir that is going to be created by flooding half of Oxfordshire?

Oxfordshire City Council has already given planning permission for npower to fill in the lakes with ash. People opposed to this have put an application in to turn the area into 'town green status'. As a result a public inquiry has been set for April. More here from a local newspaper.

I've just had a comment left on my site regarding this subject. It is from someone who knows one of the people that has had an injunction served on him by npower. It's not pretty. Link to the comment is in my original post below.

I've signed the petition and we don't use npower.

Pity those that do.
