About time too BBC link. Hopefully he'll spend a while in jail and come to realise that just because he's a member of the aristocracy he can't offer to pay somebody to kill people who disagree with him.

I really hope he gets a custodial sentence. The abuse Gina Miller has experienced, and continues to face, is disgraceful.

Twelve weeks. Three fucking months. This sends out two messages. I/ Women who stick their heads above the parapet and as a result get death threats deserve it, and 2/ Men who issue threats against women can do so without fear of a significant loss of freedom.

I'm really disappointed.

He was charged with improper use of a public electronics communication network, an offence which is heard by magistrates. Magistrates' sentencing powers are much more limited than the Crown Court. The magistrate in this case has clearly decided that this is in the most serious category for this offence. That means the starting point for sentencing under the sentencing guidelines (which they are required to follow) was 9 weeks and the maximum she could have given was 15 weeks. So I'm afraid you were always going to be disappointed.

I'm happy to see that he got time, even if not much. It might put other twats off posting such online abuse if they see a viscount not getting off scot free.
