Is it just me, or does the UN seem increasingly powerless to act in the face of atrocities? It seems to have become a body for "stating the opinion" of the majority of the countries of which it is comprised, but is blocked from ever taking action because it has simply become too big.

If the UN didn't contain all the countries it wouldn't be much use as a world talking shop.

There must be so much frustration within the UN over Syria. The Russians appear to be refusing to listen to any other country's point of view.
