I met the woman that wrote the manners book today - she was being interviewed in our studio. The books called 'Yes, please. Thanks.' I told her all about Mumsnet. Just been having a flick through the book. Seems sound to me.

But, where's my manners? Haven't posted for yonks, hope you are all fab and feisty as always. x

Sorry - the author's name is Penny Palmano.

Perhaps too many excalmation marks and emboldened bits though - no need.

I thought about you recently bobbins, nice to see you!

Bobbins · 05/07/2004 05:08

The manners book is your standard 'kids have to have boundaries' tome. From what I've read, and from the author I met, it's just sound advice, loads of the usual stuff. It's very readable though, not too dogmatic.

The first thing I asked her was whether the putting your knife and fork together when you are done with eating was an international thing. Didn't get a satisfactory answer reallly, but she was a lovely woman.
