It also sounds as though pedestrians may have been hit by a car on the bridge.

LIZS · 22/03/2017 15:08

Can't be a coincidence.

I'm watching BBC news coverage at the moment. The details are really unclear.

Graphista · 22/03/2017 15:22

It's only just happened/happening so not surprising no official clarification as nobody sure what's happened yet.

Looks like someone tried to drive into HoP then stabbed a cop - completely unclear who fired first, assailant or police upon seeing he was armed.

Scary

MehShrug · 22/03/2017 15:28

Sounds like separate (but linked) events. Dreadful.

pocketsaviour · 22/03/2017 16:10

According to BBC:
The attacker is reported to have mowed down several pedestrians as he drove a grey Hyundai car across Westminster Bridge before crashing it into railings
He is then reported to have run through the gates of the Palace of Westminster and stabbed the officer

and

A policeman has been stabbed and his attacker shot by officers at the House of Parliament

No deaths reported for those who were run down so we can hope that the attacker was the only fatality.

pocketsaviour · 22/03/2017 16:19

Oh dear, I posted too soon. It seems at least one of the people hit by the car has died. Flowers

ilovesprouts · 22/03/2017 16:53

somewheresomehow · 22/03/2017 17:33

To people who say us oldies have survived IRA attacks, etc, yes that's true, but it was very localised, this terror shit is global and on a much bigger scale than anything we grew up with, I don't care for me, but our kids, grandkids, etc, shouldn't need to know about this, but sadly terrorism is a reality for them.

hollyisalovelyname · 23/03/2017 09:51

My sympathy to all those affected.
Such a dreadful event.
Man's inhumanity to man again.
