Is this some April Fool's piece which slipped out early by mistake?
Large swathes of Britain with no jobs, not proper ones anyway, while he's snaffled four jobs!

I think you'll find he has SIX jobs.

This the idiot who managed to get a B in one A level.

I suspect it's something to do with Evgeny Lebedev (standard owner) and his political / tax haven opinions. But I don't know what >

There must be a conflict of interest here, an MP and Tory party member as editors or a newspaper?

I wonder what relevant experience he put on his application form?

TulipsInAJug · 18/03/2017 18:57

Appalling conflict of interests. One of his constituents has started a petition to get him to resign.

And one of his six jobs is Director of the so-called Northern Powerhouse. No conflict of interest there with editing a London-centric paper. Hmm He'll be using it as a powerbase to derail Brexit.

He still hasn't got over being sacked from the cabinet by Teresa.

ploughyourownfurrow · 19/03/2017 09:54

Does he know the first thing of the nuts and bolts of journalism?
Does he know what 350 words of copy looks like without having to do a word count?
Can he condense copy?
Can he apply critical judgement across a range of potential news items?
Does he have a working knowledge of defamation outside the protection of parliamentary privilege?
Can he change a layout with one eye open?
Does he have a creative understanding of fonts/production tools?
I can only imagine that this role is a titular one. Someone with a clue will do the job while he takes the credit!

I'd be seriously pissed off if I was one of his constituents. Working as editor of the paper 4 days a week AND being an effective MP? Surely impossible?

TulipsInAJug · 19/03/2017 18:35

He's been roundly attacked in the ST today.

I can't stand the man personally. There is something repellent about him.
