Gosh that is frightning.

I don't know how you've managed to read that GB!

Quote "The UK now has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in Europe, with 13 deaths per 100,000. Britain ranks below countries including Poland and Hungary, and is above Bulgaria, Bosnia, Belarus, Romania, Armenia and Albania."

It's very sad.

My aunts SIL died from PPH after giving bith to a stillborn. The drugs they gave her to try to clot the blood didn't work, so she bled to death. When I was talking to a MW at the babyshow, she said that these kind of deaths are really rare. When mothers die there is usually an underlying illness such as cancer or heart problems.

I wish there was some way that care for mothers was a priority for the NHS funding, rather than the money lost in mismanagement and administration. To lose a child or the mother as a result of childbirth should not be an increasing occurrance. It's a waste and I believe it's traumatic for many MWs as well.

terrifying. one of the reasons we are putting off having another baby is that i am just too scared to go back into hospital after birth of ds. It was so awful, tho thank god we are ok in the long run. Makes me very angry.
