Seems a bit pointless as parents can still withdraw kids. So schools that don't want to teach it can surely just hand out forms for parents to sign?

Ofsted inspect it don't they? So you'd hope they'd pick up on % withdrawals. But good point

and what about homeschooled kids? how can it be insured that they are taught this very important lesson?

I agree it doesn't go far enough if parents can withdraw children from compulsory lessons.

but it's a start :)
