the Israeli govt are also withholding £50m in taxes every month I believe according to figures in the Times.
Because the palestinians elected Hamas - a banned terrorist group into government the EU USA and everyone was unable to fund them as funding banned terrorist groups could lead to prosecution
Even private donators to the Palestinian childrens charities (like myself)found ourselves liable for prosecution if we continued to donate.
I have yet to find another way to donate without contravening the laws surrounding terrorist funding.
It makes me ill, it is one if not the greatst injustices in the world today.

i just echoes what happened to the jews in the ghettoes of warsaw, krakow etc...only this time the wall has gone up without having to heard them in and they are dying starving and dont seem to matter....

i've been to nazi camps, auschwitz birkeneau, krakow ghetto what remains of, buchenwald and others...the birds dont sing it is so true..

...and just cant get my head round people who have had mass murder/ attempted genocide committed against them and in living memory ....doing it to others...

I agree that it is horrific and I absolutely agree that it echoes the past. The abused can become the abuser on a macro not just personal level.

me too sophable. It seems impossible to criticize Israel without cries of anti-semitism. I know it is a complex issue, but Israel really should have to be answerable to somebody.

My husband is from the Middle East and we have a friend from Gaza....its so awful what is happening and the injustice of it is felt so deeply by people in the Middle East that its hard to conceive of...

The Aborigines were chased off their land and after appalling treatment, they are slowly starting to get their rights back (although its not as fast as it should be!) and people today don't question this fact - I don't see that Palestine should be any different. The Holocaust was an absolute atrocity but it is not an excuse to persecute others and steal their land as a result of it.

I get really cheesed off with the cry of Anti semitism anyway, because its the wrong term to use - the Arabic language/race is Semetic in origin!!!!

its just so mad but allowed to happen not in political interests here or us to sort it out...so distressing...

i was absorbed by events of ww2 as a kid and visited death camps and such as adult, no onemore sympathetic to their (and all the other victims..homosexuals, gypsies, political prisoners, etc..too)
i just cant beleive that experience would ever allow me to behave the same to others...ikywim..

yeah well ....just go into the news topics and check the old threads on "Israel:when will the west do something?" and discover what happens if you dare criticise the Israelis. If you like Zionism, you'll have a field day.

They are no more or less terrorists than Hamas. They are illegally occupying Palestinian land and annexing more and more every month, with financial and military backing from the US and Britain.The Gaza strip is the most densely populated piece of land on earth and home to the most squalid ghettoes imaginable. Bush and Blair are happy with this.Blah blah blah.
