Just seen this. Feeling shocked and upset.

It is so sad. He was one of those singers who, without me really appreciating his significance, punctuated so many milestones of my life...from being a teenager to a mature adult. RIP

Very sad - he had a fabulous voice. Faith is one of my top albums of all time

Feel the same as justicewoman - he's always been there in music for me. Loved Wham. Just goggled to show DD1 and realised that in 1984 I was 11 and George Michael was my favourite pop star, she is around the same age.

Such a shock initially and yet not really if I think about. What loss.

I saw him live on the Faith tour with a guest appearance from Andrew Ridgeley. He was brilliant, such a wonderful voice. What a pity he couldn't find peace in his life. I can't help but feel that whatever the actual cause of death, it was his lifestyle that led to it at such an early age. I've been listening to his tracks all morning. RIP George.
