Just read she has had a heart attack. Hoping so much she is okay or that it's fake news.

The BBC is quoting US media reports. They're not saying it's confirmed, but must be reasonably sure, to put it on their website.

SouthWestmom · 23/12/2016 22:35

Oh no I read it and was hoping it was one of the stupid stories that take off.
Fingers crossed and hoping she's okay.

Looks like some people who witnessed it couldn't wait to splash it all over social media.

Konyaa · 23/12/2016 22:38

The I don't trust 2016 one bit.

Konyaa · 23/12/2016 22:38

As in it's only delivered bad news

AnguaResurgam · 23/12/2016 22:47

I don't think there can be any doubt that it was she who had a medical episode on the flight.

Some of the media reports sound distinctly pessimistic, but I hope that's just over-excited reporter.

SouthWestmom · 23/12/2016 22:55

Yeah the Twitter stuff was a bit unkind. Surely you'd forgo the attention to let her family find out more appropriately

I was horrified at that actress tweeting during the flight! Attention seeking imo. I wonder if her family even knew at that point? News reports this morning say she's in ICU in a serious condition. I hope she pulls through.

Manumission · 24/12/2016 08:40

Yes the whole notion of "processing" other people's tragedies by broadcasting them on social media is pretty nasty.

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice · 24/12/2016 08:47

The actress has come in for a bit of flak from Twitter about this. Have you read the thread about Carrie Fisher on the Graham Norton show? She seemed a bit spaced out then, and I'm wondering whether she had started to become unwell a week ago? Sad

123rd · 24/12/2016 08:56

Did read it on bbc. So, people who were on the flight were tweeting about it as it happened ?? Oh god.

SouthWestmom · 24/12/2016 13:24

Yes apparently . Hit Twitter as soon as they landed. Suspect this kind of lack of manners and respect will get worse

Come on Carrie, pull through. Keep looking at twitter and hoping for some good news ( and refused to click on the awful DM article blaming her heart attack on her past alcohol and drug abuse issues.)

TheSecondOfHerName · 24/12/2016 19:24

The BBC article says she received CPR for 30 minutes. If this is accurate, then I worry about her chances of making a full recovery. Sad

TheSecondOfHerName · 27/12/2016 18:07

I would much rather have been wrong Sad

Thelonewanderer · 27/12/2016 18:09
