It seems that each force is applying this differently or not at all ,Story here . Perhaps a higher profile campaign through school would prove more effective or do parents really just feel they are above the Law ?

As previously discussed, this is a badly-formulated stupid law anyway. So hats off to the plods for taking a sensible approach for once.

I'm trying to imagine how you convince a 12 year old that he needs a car seat.

I have to say that I struggle to work out whether kids I'm giving lifts to are the right height or not. Am pleased to see that this is being applied pragmaticly.

But I will be glad to see a change to the mobile phone rules - that is so often flouted and getting 3 points might just do the trcik.

Anyone know what happens if you order a taxi and there is no car seat?

estatebabe · 15/02/2007 17:01

taxis are the ONLY exception to the rule
