No why?

Budababe · 07/02/2007 10:12

Ditto

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 10:23

There was an item on the national midwifery crisis, and a rather lovely little boy was featured - mine!

Aaah. I didn't see it. My Nan was on the news on Monday though!

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 10:38

Oooh - why?

OP posts:
funkimummy · 07/02/2007 10:39

Asking her opinion on chicken bird-flu thing.

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 15:02

Was she doing a vox pop? I may have seen her.

Ds2 was being interviewed. Well, it was actually me being interviewed, but they did so many close-ups of ds2 that I doubt anyone actually registered what I had to say!

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr What's a vox pop?!?!?

I think my grandad told them to go away or he'd shoot them with a 12-bore!! (would be quite hard, considering he is wheel-chair bound and moves in his chair at a snails pace. I love old people!!!)

Ah did you manage to tape your interview?

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 15:10

Vox pup is when they stop people in the street/knock at doors/etc to talk to them.

Love your grandad!

Yes, we taped it. Am I allowed to gush about my utterly gorgeous son, dribbling in front of the nation?

Yeah then she was vox pop. She was the one that sounded like a man (she's got a really really gruff voice!) Bless her.

Could've punched camera men - piss off. She's 71 and looking after a disabled old git all on her own!!! You clear up the friggin chickens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marina · 07/02/2007 15:13

I thought she was fab funkimummy , and her chickens looked so much happier and healthier than those miserable wretched creatures up at the Factory
Missed your ds though prettycandles

funkimummy · 07/02/2007 15:15

Salt of the earth my Nan. We call her Jagger due to a Mick Jagger style haircut she once possessed!! Cracks me up!

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 15:17

No, sorry, I didn't see her - I'm sure I would have remembered her had I done so, she sounds absolutely stonking!

PrettyCandles · 07/02/2007 16:50

No, not mine (tho v sweet). I can't find video of the interview on that site. Ah well, my 15 minutes of fame have not dented my MN anonymity.

OP posts:
peegeeweegee · 08/02/2007 13:36

Were you interviewed, wearing a white/cream top, with your ds on your lap?? If so then I saw you and thought you look great, and baby was gorgeous!!

OutBriefCandles · 08/02/2007 18:01

YEEEEEESSSS! Someone saw me!

Thansk for the compliment (I know how HUGE I look - mostly because I'm almost as big as I look [wry face emoticon]) and I agree entirely re baby .

What I wanted to know was whether seeing so much of ds2 distracted from what I was saying?

peegeeweegee · 11/02/2007 10:07

Sorry, couldn't find this thread again...

You did not look huge - you looked very pretty, healthy and happy!!

I think you came across very very well, ds (as cute as he is) did not detract from what you were saying, for me it brought the message home how important midwifery care is as you are dealing with a mother and baby.
