Link Between Farage & Trump

Interesting article putting forward a theory that the connection between Trump & Farage is the Breitbart executive Steven Bannon who is Trump's new campaign manager (Breitbart is a right wing propaganda machine)

It's alleged Bannon has "been running Farage from abroad as his puppet" & helped him get his chief aide for the General Election 2015. Both Farage & Trump adopt similar strategies & "mouth" Bannon's support of Putin which raises the question of where funding comes from..

I think that is stretching it a bit. It is true that a Breitbart employee, Raheem Kassan, helped Trump during the elections and Bannon probably does have influence with Farage, but Farage has been a waste of time because he has not thrown all his weight behind Trump, in my opinion.

Farage is a bit Channel 4, wishy-washy, metropolitan and has not backed Trump on some aspects.

Bannon is a former US Naval officer, his daughter is a West Point graduate and lieutenant in the 101st Airborne Division.

Bannon is a conservative US patriot, the same as Trump, which is why he is a good fit in Trump's team.

They are not Establishment, they are taking America back from the globalists.

Farage needs all the help he can get because he is not rich and needs advice and money in order to defeat the Establishment teams who have much more money, media control and spin than Farage has got and who are all against him. That is why he is glad to be helped in any way or supported by people like Bannon or Breitbart etc.

Of course if Trump wins, I expect that Farage will be favoured by Trump and his team.

No-one with any sense would want to be supported by Farage, and I suspect his influence in the US is minimal.

What is going to matter far more is who will succeed Farage as leader of UKIP.

Because support for that party is solid at around 14% (higher around referendum time) and if a new leader can consolidate the vote in the old Labour heartlands and continue to expand it, then even with FTTP we can expect to see gains.

Contact of the ex-leader with Trump is only really a sideshow.

But perhaps a clever hedge, should Trump win.
