i thought theyt split up ages ago...what on earth is musical similarity?!

CanStarveWillStarve · 31/01/2007 22:20

I didn't like all the screechy women singing (a little time, rotterdam etc) but loved his voice, and particularly enjoyed the Headnoggers album, which has been much underrated. Hope Paul continues to sing by himself or with another band.

Heathcliffscathy · 31/01/2007 22:20

thank f*ck for that.

Saturn74 · 31/01/2007 22:21

Ah
Loved 'Woman in the Wall'.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 31/01/2007 22:21

I loved them. So did my parents. They'll be gutted.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 31/01/2007 22:22

Oh, brilliant song HC.

bandstand · 31/01/2007 22:25

can't stand rotterdam, turn off radio whenever it comes on. saw a programme about them a few years ago and they seemed to be in trouble then. 1 in 7 have an album of theirs, so they say, i have two

Saturn74 · 31/01/2007 22:25

thewoodlandfairy · 31/01/2007 22:46

at college in Hull in the 80's The Housemartins and the he Beautiful South were such a pzrt of it all. Need to dig out soem of that old music - fab. Oh yeah, and Everything But The Girl were from HUll too, named after a furniture shop near the town centre. Whatever happened to them, i wonder, loved their early stuff

UnquietDad · 31/01/2007 23:11

Yes, "rye humour"! I wonder if that will get corrected...

Liked the "musical similarities" line. Wondering if they nicked it as the same line turns up here (talking about Stock, Aitken & Waterman).

ledodgy · 31/01/2007 23:23

Gosh it is quite symbolic that my dd accidently broke my Carry on up the charts cd in half this morning then!
