That rumour had been around for a long time, and Oprah had neither confirmed or denied it and fortunately, no one really pressed the issue.

It's well known she was brought up by her grandparents and sexually abused by an uncle.

Her whole life, she's dedicated to trying to save little girls.

Guess now we know why.

I knew about the sexual abuse - but had no there were long standing rumours.

She's a much better role model for young women than all these flash your boobs talentless hoochies.

Her scholarship fund for people who are not destitutely poor, but who cannot afford education w/o serious debt, for people who are struggling to combine work/family w/education to better themselves.

Her bringing attention to issues a lot of people shy away from.

I think she's a good interviewer, too.
