Drive-by Shooting in my wee Village!!!!!!!!

OMG

Coming into work this morning there was a couple of sections of road taped off with Police tape and a few Policemen hovering around. I thought there had maybe been a small road accident or maybe a fight the night before and someone had been hurt.

But my friend just emailed me to say that there had been a drive-by shooting outside our local chippy! The report said 2 shots were fired and one man was hit, but doesn't say if he was killed or not.

I live in a wee mining town in Central Scotland. The worst we get is a brawl after an old firm match. Can't believe it!!!

I haven't had any more info. Apparently it's been linked to long running feud between 2 travelling families! I didn't even know there were 'travelling families' in our area.

I did notice on my home yesterday that there was a crowd of Asian guys standing arguing outside that chippy. We don't have a lot of Asians living here so I thought they were tourists. Don't know if it was them though....

It is horrible. I walk down that road with DS sometimes!

lol Janh - We get a lot of tourists coming to see the Wheel! Japanese and American mainly.... but thought the word might have spread wider.

Oh no, it's horrible when that happens.
Afraid we are getting used to that sort of thing in Brum, as it happens alot.

I heard about this on Central FM this morning and thought about you - not that I thought you were involved in any way but I just know you live near there.
Hopefully, it's a one off.
By the way, I was at the Falkirk Wheel on Sunday and it was absolutely mobbed - weather was lovely and there was what looked like a really nice kids playground, although ds wasn't feeling well and didn't play in it.
