'Have not heard of Mr Hilton before... who is he!'
Mr Moderniser, described by those in the know as "Cameron's Brain". Without him, Cameron would have been a mere shell, a moderniser without a rudder, a nut without the husk.
'David's brain' transforms Tory brand
...
Hilton, 37, is "David's brain" or "alter ego", say those who know him."

From some of Cameron's promouncements, there was some disquiet among political observers as to whether he had a brain, and it was a fair question which was widely discussed, but those "in the know" were reassured that Hilton, Mr Moderniser, was in fact the "brain" at the heart of policy. Hilton was wild, he went where others feared to tread, he filled Middle England and the Daily Mail reader with utter dread, but Cameron followed him like a puppy.
"Yet Hilton's rise has provoked suspicion among traditional Conservatives, even his erstwhile mentor, Lord Saatchi, who recently attacked the Tories for pursuing the centre ground and turning politics into a commodity market. "I don't know him; we [MPs] are far too far down the food chain [for him]," said one unimpressed backbencher. "Sadly, I think phrases like 'hug a hoodie' will enter the lexicon."
Hilton made mostakes, he went wild and of course Cameron followed wherever he went, but now Hilton is back and is beginning to talk some common sense. He understands the Trump phenomenon, believes in democracy and taking power from the elites, so a new phase has begun and he has left Cameron behind in the dust.
Now Cameron is adrift on the sea with his guiding star, Mr Moderniser, wh has broken ranks and dashed for freedom and eacape from the bureaucratic, elitist, corporate EU.
Hilton is tomorrow's man, because he is with the people, and Cameron is yesterday's man, history, insulting Trump and aligning himself with the Brussels bureaucrats.
The Establishment have tried to brand the Brexiters as old-fashioned UKIP types, but now that Hilton has joined them, there is consternation among the Bremain camp, because Hilton was Cameron's brain, the man who singlehandedly invented modernisation and directed Cameron down that path.
That is why all across Westminster, you can hear the modernisers cry
"Et tu, Steve? You, too, have joined the people and want to Leave"
