For once a news story with a happy ending. Every time I see the shots of the boys reunited with their families I am moveed to tears. I hope they can successfully re-build their lives, particularly difficult in the case of the boy found after more than 4 years. My heart goes out to them and the families.

I think there's something fishy going on. The one who disappeard four years ago is so calm and obviously well fed. Apparently he knew they were looking for him and had seen the posters of him, aged up.

A colleague here (I'm at work) wonders if they were in some kind of safe house escaping from a bad situation at home.

I think it's all very creepy and needs much more investigation.

I hadn't read that into it at all. I assumed the one missing for four years was shell-shcoked and traumatised. They said he may have been brainwashed by the abductor who was on the sex offenders register.

I hope they don't go the way of Steven Stayner. He never 'rebuilt' his life, unfortunately.

His brother was on Death Row in California for two horrific murders and two rape/murders.

Given up with the link. Its on the bbc news site anyway.

here it is

very odd..... he seemed remarkebly cheerful and well cared for looking for an abductee. would be inclined to agree he was there of his own volition... the man was working 2 jobs for gods sake, how was there no chance for escape in 4 years..... he must have hardly ever been there!

Troutpout · 13/01/2007 20:04

Shocking
those poor boys...i hope it's a happy ending.

I'll reserve judgement til more facts have been releaased. Like the girl in Austria who was held captive for 8 years and went out on trips with her captor, who knows what sort of psychological abuse went on? The boys were only 11 and 13, I expect they were extremely frightened, cos it must of been a bad situation at home that resulted in this...
