That's horrendous, but I suppose it might be accounted for by her having a phobia about flying or a mental illness, particularly as she didn't rejoin the flight once it did take off. I do feel sorry for the Italian economist being treated publicly as a potential terrorist.

I showed this to my (maths and computing geek with ASD) ds as he will often write equations when he is just sitting amusing himself, more worryingly his are computer game related for first person shooter games so he could end up getting himself in real trouble.

What gets me is that they took the prof off the plane to question him. Was there really nobody on the crew who could just look at his writing and see that it was maths? Not, God forbid, Arabic!

Or to just check his passport & see that he is Italian?
