Ambulance workers now! Where will it end?

Now ambulance workers are to be balloted on whether they want to take industrial action over pay.
I'm worried that it's all getting out of hand with the public services.

Well let's hope the government sorts out decent pay and conditions. Our services providers such as junior docs, nurses, ambulance staff are amazing and deserve fair treatment.

There must be serious concerns with the conduct of this government if those of us who have signed the Hippocrates oath have to resort to this.

Sorry- not having the best of times with my phone connection!

Don't worry the armed forces that several people on here happily slag off will probably jump in to meet demand. My husband and several.of his colleagues had a training course a few months ago in case of an ambulance strike so I suspect ambulance staff knew they were in the pipeline to get shafted by this government.

It will be consultants and nurses as well soon I suspect. Unfortunately the forces won't be able to step in there at all.

Where will it end? With the current government not being re elected hopefully.

Brexit I'm very concerned. I don't understand your reaction to my op at all. What are you implying? I am just becoming more and more horrified at the whole Hunt/government/BMA debacle and now the same could happen between the government and the GMB/ambulance service.

Hownototfuckup, there are 4 years to go before another general election.

I guess this will go on and on.

Just been looking for a break down of how long we actually do have these people in power for. Can't find anything though.
Hopefully there will be a revolution in the mean time!

Sorry Mountain I misread what you meant- I thought you were implying that the doctors were out of hand and had to be stopped. (I'd had a long day.)

I'm just as horrified as you are. What would be lovely, generally, is if we had a cabinet like Canada's, where everyone has on the ground experience of the portfolio they manage. I just can't trust the word of Jeremy hunt over medical professionals who have trained for a decade and work in the service every day.

It's sad all round. I hope that everyone gets the care they need today and I hope this finds a resolution soon.
