Well you could and it would make a great book
Finding out at 60 that the man he thought was his father wasn't his father.

He lived with this man rather than with his mother. Why?
Wasn't that strange for the 1950's/60's ? His mother not getting custody of him.
Leaving him to be raised by an alcoholic 'father'. The poor little boy.
However he has turned out a lovely man.

deplorable that everyone thinks they have right to talk about it.

I did a double take when I saw the headlines this morning. Fascinating story.

It's no one else's business.

I wonder how he and his mum never suspected. Someone in his biological father family must have to suggest a DNA test. There must be been family gossio.

He is such a nice man as and seems to be taking it in his stride. How interesting though.

Apparently the only reason he looked into it was because the Telegraph did some research into his family background and told him. That's disgraceful - rude intrusion into something very private & personal. Poor bloke.

His mum was an alcoholic too (though now recovered) so perhaps it was thought he was better off with his father at that time? How do we know his childhood wouldn't have been worse if he'd lived with her?

Was his Mum not back with her family?

He had growing suspicious that Sir Anthony was Welby's father and the family used to joke about the striking resemblance between the two.

In early 2013, in a nursing home, Sir Anthony said he would like to meet Welby, who was Bishop at the time.

Macklin phoned the Bishop's office and made the request to Welby and also told him that he thought Sir Anthony, who was a friend and former colleague of his mother Jane Welby, was his father.

The surprised priest reportedly listened carefully but said he will discuss it further once the process of him becoming Archbishop of Canterbury was all over.
