I read something in the broadsheets about Sadaam Hussein's rein of terror and a particular atrocity

committed on a pregnant woman

and it is totally haunting me I wish I hadn't read it

I can't seem to stop thinking of it though

do you think we've crossed the line in sensationalising stories even in our 'qualities' or was it justified to include horrific examples as a news story

not in the DM then?

is it rein or reign?

This is what we wanted isn't it? To know the absolute truth, be told no lies, everything out in the open? Can we change our minds now?

I felt the same way after seeing the Potomac tragedy and 911 and stories of the holocaust, it will pass.

i know what you are referring to and it made me feel utterly sick to my stomach - i think the whole reporting of the death of Saddam in the broadsheets and tabloids was pretty much the same in terms of them all showing the same graphic pictures of him at the gallows. For a society which i think has become quite de-sensitised to horrific images i think a lot of people were shocked by the pictures ...

OH BUGGER (oops caps) I always get that wrong .. and you know it .. but that's the right one isn't it?

I read that too twig and it is horrible

His pic with a noose round his neck is disgraceful too, I wish they would stop printing it.

I certainly don't feel desensitised. I feel horror and revulsion every time I see or hear those things. I can't imagine what those por people or what that poor woman went through.
