The future of jobcentres

What do you think will happen? Does anyone know anyone that works there? Our local jobcentre is moving offices to a smaller place and getting rid of staff.

Do you think we need jobcentres in this digital age at all? Do you think in the long run they will cease to exist? Do they help anyone into work anymore or are they just there to administrate and sanction etc.

I love my advisor at the job centre. She's really helped me by listening and getting me on courses that have improved my chances of getting a job. A computer couldn't do that.

Horrible thing to say, but with all the sanctions they throw around, perhaps. It's a case of "What goes around, comes around". Pay back is a bitch!.
I know they're not all like that, but from a thread on aibu.
Aibu to think weekly job centre grillings are a waste of time. A lot are.

I think that the current way of doing things is outdated.

I think that job centers should be in the local colleges. It would certainly work in my home town.

I agree I'm not sure they are needed today. They aren't like they used to be in fact its been reported that they cause anxiety to people and have become places to be feared. The staff may have to turn on each other too if they work part time as the Gvt wants everyone in full time work.
