I hope I can share this here, I've just read the story online and I thought others might like to donate to help poor Kirsty get the help she needs. No one should have to live like this :(

I'm a bit confused reading that as to why they need money.

It isn't very clear - what are they wanting, a private test for Lyme disease? Or some kind of medication not funded by the NHS?

It kind of comes across as a bit of a rant, which is understandable but money won't solve their frustration.

Also what sort of private specialist? Someone promoting alternative cures or something?

This was the original article I read, sorry I should have included that in my OP to provide a bit more backstory.
It's to help her get tested for Lyme disease at a private clinic as the NHS isn't providing help.

I'm not sure, I don't know a lot about the illness. I just really felt for her and thought it was worth sharing as I don't have Facebook. It just seems a terrible way to live.

The local news story says she's been tested on the NHS and it came back negative so it seems like her family don't believe this is a reliable result.

I'm sorry but there's no way I can donate to something when it doesn't explain what the money is for.

It's obviously something which doesn't have a clear cut answer which is why she's been suffering for so long.
It's fine if you don't want to donate, no ones forcing you, but it's a bit unkind to downplay what's happening to her and criticise her campaign (A bit of a rant? ) It's not as if she's trying to wangle money for a holiday, they're just trying to get help for answers which seems reasonable to me.

It's not unkind to express an opinion when people post requests asking for money. Especially if it's not to a registered charity and it's not immediately clear what the money is for.

They would do far better if they could manage to communicate their exact needs in a way people could understand.

Of course I am sorry that she is suffering but throwing money at a person who is suffering, when no one is saying what it will be used for, would be daft. We don't know them. There is no implicit trust involved here.

They are strangers and they want us to donate, and I am just asking, what for? Exactly?

I won't donate as nowhere on there does it say what the money is for. If the NHS results proved ineffective, why is she not returning explaining she is still feeling ill and asking for further treatment/tests? I have been in that position, did that and eventually received the correct treatment.

You say it's not as if she's trying to wangle money for a holiday - how do you know that?
