What surprised me was a comment by PO bosses that there are currently 14,000 Post Offices on britain, and that the country could run with just 4,000!
What about people in the north of scotland, would they expect them to travel to say Inverness every time they wanted to post a parcel. As you point out as well charliecat, they are always busy. I started a thread today, saying that the second class letters i poseted on Wednesday arrived on Thursday, the 1st class on the Friday, and the 1st class signed for one, also posted on Wednesday still hasn't turned up!
So perhaps they need to sort out tehir deliveries as well.

My mum had a few bits to send to Jakarta to my niece and nephew. She put it on the scales and was told it would cost £46.00. Needless to say she didn't bother!
