so even though he was being monitored by police, probation and child services officials he still got away with raping a 5 year old over a 3 year period?! Sorry but I don't believe in rehabilitation for sex offenders, once a paedy always a paedy, they should be shot.

There is no such thing as rehabilitation for a paedophile - it is the same as trying to rehabilitate a homosexual. The problem (as I understand it) is that there is a loophole in the law ie a paedophile can't be locked up for life using the mental health act because there is nothing mentally wrong with them iyswim. So they can only be tried under criminal law and it results in the pathetic monitoring system atm - over-stretched and under staffed. Chemical castration has been a success in the US but I think the govt is far too lily-livered and worried about human rights to use it here.

Also who would want to be a probation officer, police officer etc working with paedos? I wouldn't do it for any money.
