I don't want to read the story and possibly spoil the image created by the thread title!

SantasFattymumma · 03/12/2006 13:31

pmsl well at least they are inventive

Papillon · 03/12/2006 13:31

yes I feel the same way (but did now read the story ) the title is a story in itself!

Arh, the inventiveness of my fellow countrymen / women! It really is a game of cat & mouse out there. Don't know if it's still law out there or not but, you used to be able to legally buy the technology (a little electronic receiver box) that beeped at you once you were near a cop car. Amazing now I think about it!

ellesbells · 03/12/2006 15:00

will they change the name of 99's to 999's???

tiredemma · 03/12/2006 15:02

Greensleeves? how does we feel about the idea of ice-cream vans stalking NZ criminals while pretending to be a prominent mumsnetter?

Papillon · 03/12/2006 17:38

she was around earlier but is being either coy or nearsighted

whensantagotstuckupAITCHimney · 03/12/2006 19:04

at coy

Papillon · 04/12/2006 07:08

has Greensleeves truely gone undercover??

OP posts:
heavenlyghosty · 04/12/2006 07:16

Only in NZ ....

Psst ... it is actually because they can't afford to buy enough police cars as the government is so stingy crap with funding the police force ...

All those Brit Cops that are being recruited to come to NZ - how pissed off will they be when they find themselves chugging down the road in an ice cream van?? ROFL

heavenlyghosty · 04/12/2006 07:18

Wife: How was your day darling? Did you catch any robbers/drunk drivers?
PC: No but I did sell 27 Jelly Tips

2000milestoeidsvold · 04/12/2006 07:29

that did that in australia - queensland throughout summer - usually our worst time on the roads - lots of old bombs decked out like surfing bums with boards etc..... designed to catch speeding drivers etc.

at the jelly tips - my fav icecream!!

heavenlyghosty · 04/12/2006 07:34

Or as the kiwis call the "Jilly Tups"

Papillon · 04/12/2006 07:38

oi

its been too long, forgotten all about jelly tips - must siddle up to ice cream van while in NZ
