Did anyone hear/see Nick Clegg's interview yesterday?

Sorry for sounding off here but he seems even more PR approved, stage managed, rehearsed etc than ever before. His timely little chuckles. Saying "Look" at the start of sentences. I switched the radio off he irritated me so much.

I can't believe I actually voted for him once, before he took the Lib Dem's so far to the right. I wonder if it's the Corbyn effect? People like Clegg now seem so excruciatingly 'polished' and Americanised????

As in any party, in any country, those looking politically 'raw', exciting and promising at general election times "a new way (or kind) of politics" - once confronted with big office, with big problems, a huge responsibility to succeed, and few options - then become the same 'ol.

With Corbyn, it looks to me as though he is already flip flopping several key policies he had during the membership hustings for the Labour leadership, when confronted 24-hours later by the Labour Parliamentary Party - so come 2020 he too should be not just be well groomed, and 'scrubbed up', but 'spit and polished' as well.

Re Clegg, actually I agree with someone's opinion the other day, possibly on the Daily Politics, that the Lib Dems (prior to Corbyn's appointment) was with hindsight wrong to appoint a Tim whatshisface looking to move the Lib Dems to the left - as now faced with the batshit Corbynomics, a fresh faced and untainted Clegg holding the middle ground, would have been better suited to the role.

P.S. Not that I think Clegg initially promising "new politics" was tainted by office, as if he had not done what was right for the country by following the electoral math and entering a coalition - when the HM Opposition Party was to spend 5-years opposing everything that was attempting to sort out our May 2010 problems - god knows where we'd be by now. IMO

I think the Lib Dems had some media training..

If you watch Norman Lamb, Jo Swinson, Nick Clegg they all star sentences with "Look..."- Pause - Smile - Open Hand Gesture

Doesn't everyone who holds a government office have media training; where do you think Gordon Brown got his smile from, god? lol

Isitme I'd like to think he got his money back if that was a result of media training!
