An eight-year-old boy was threatened at gunpoint as a gang of thieves stole his mother's car at a petrol station.
The group of men struck at the Red Lion Filling Station on Stockport Road, Cheadle, Greater Manchester, on Monday.
The child was in the passenger seat of his mother's blue BMW X5 as she paid for her petrol when three or four men approached the car.
They held the gun to him and dragged him out before driving off. The car was later found abandoned in Fallowfield.
Police found the car in Ladybarn Lane, Ladybarn, where it had collided with a bus.
Three men, one of whom was limping, were seen running from the car after it was abandoned.
The boy was uninjured but was left extremely shaken by his ordeal, which happened at about 1510 GMT.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or the car, to contact them.
