this is great newws but i am fearfull for the first few women who try and use the law to prosecute a rapist.

this is a country where a women can be stoned to death if she is found an adulterer....there was a case recently where she cried rape and so was stoned for having an affair

I think Sharia law should be banned from every corner of the Earth. Well, parts of it are okay. But, nothing that treats a woman differently than a man.

Sharia law scares the crap out of me.

I don't think we're going to get much of a debate on this thread, it does seem inconceivable to us lucky Westereners that millions of women are treated like shit in a large chunk of the planet.
What worries me is the nutty islamists who want to set up Sharia, or a version of it, here.

Yes, mumblechum, that scares me too. What is going to happen to relations between Christians, Jews, Muslims and any other religeon when muslims want to impose their ways in non-secular states?

Obviously it isn't likely to get imposed. But, it could bring about more tension that we certainly don't need.
