This is really good news.

Four witnesses?

Uwilalalalalala · 16/11/2006 20:57

Yeah, like a guy who is going to rape a woman is going to do it with four other men in the room?!?!?!

How's that lovely squeek?

Fattymumma · 17/11/2006 11:05

this is great newws but i am fearfull for the first few women who try and use the law to prosecute a rapist.

this is a country where a women can be stoned to death if she is found an adulterer....there was a case recently where she cried rape and so was stoned for having an affair

I think Sharia law should be banned from every corner of the Earth. Well, parts of it are okay. But, nothing that treats a woman differently than a man.

Sharia law scares the crap out of me.

I don't think we're going to get much of a debate on this thread, it does seem inconceivable to us lucky Westereners that millions of women are treated like shit in a large chunk of the planet.
What worries me is the nutty islamists who want to set up Sharia, or a version of it, here.

Twiglett · 17/11/2006 12:32

my western brain cannot get my head around how mature males can believe they are not responsible for their own actions .. and it never will be able to

Uwilalalalalala · 17/11/2006 13:09

Yes, mumblechum, that scares me too. What is going to happen to relations between Christians, Jews, Muslims and any other religeon when muslims want to impose their ways in non-secular states?

Obviously it isn't likely to get imposed. But, it could bring about more tension that we certainly don't need.

In case anyone is interested, Sharia Law

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 17/11/2006 13:42

...it discusses among other things the conflicts caused by Sharia law vs Civil law in Malaysia
