US news is reporting an earthquake which has triggered a wave 6 1/2 feet high, due to hit the northern coast of Japan in the next 10 minutes or so. People are being told to flee to higher ground. God, I hope this is a false alarm or is not going to be as bad as expected...

Ooh, I hope it misses my brother - he lives in Japan
Still I think Tokyo is probably pretty well protected & the Japanese are used to tsunamis.

it was apparently only a baby tsunami

CountessDracula · 15/11/2006 16:05

hmm

16 inches

That sounds like a wave to me...
(not even a big one)
Do you think they could tell which wave was the mini tsunami?

Just as well, cos my brother is not very tall.
